How admins remove accounts from Starter, Team, and Business plans
When you’re removed from a plan, you’re notified in the app and by email.
Important: If your account has the Spaces feature and you have personal data in your Personal Space, you must take action before your account is removed to avoid losing access to that data. The best way to avoid losing access to that data is to export it to a new, personal account before your account is removed from the plan. This action is essential if you log in with single sign-on (SSO) because you'll permanently lose access to your account as soon as it's removed from the plan. You have SSO if you use the same login application to access Dashlane and other work accounts. If you don't know whether you have SSO, ask your manager or plan admin.
Export your Personal Space data to a new, personal account
If you have the Spaces feature, you can keep access to the data in the Personal Space of your Starter, Team, and Business account by importing it to a new, personal account:
- If you’re the only one with full rights to any login that’s shared with other plan members, change their access to that login so they have full rights. If you have questions about who to share with, ask your plan admin.

Export your data with a secure DASH fileNote: If you want to keep access to all of your personal logins and Secure Notes, but you’re not sure if you want to sign up for a personal Dashlane account, you can export them with a CSV file and decide later. CSV files aren't encrypted, and others can read them, so be sure to store the file securely.

If your account has already been removed from the plan
What happens to your account when it’s removed depends on whether you log in to Dashlane with single sign-on (SSO) or a Dashlane Master Password. You have SSO if you use the same login application to access Dashlane and other work accounts. If you don't know whether you have SSO, ask your manager or plan admin.
After your account is removed, it becomes a personal account on a Premium plan for 40 days. After 40 days, your account gets downgraded to a Free plan.
If you had the Spaces feature, you keep access to all logins and Secure Notes that were in your Personal Space when you were on a Starter, Team, or Business plan. If your admin turned on Smart Space Management, you lose access to all logins and Secure Notes that were in the Business Space. If you didn't have the Spaces feature, you lose access to all logins in your account.
If you’ve already been removed from a Starter, Team, or Business plan, and you’re trying to log in to the account that was removed, you might be able to regain access to your old account. This will depend on if you added another contact email, enabled biometrics, or added personal devices to your account before you were removed. If you don’t want to export your data, take the following steps before you’re removed from the plan so that you don’t lose access to your account:
Important: If you use single sign-on (SSO) to log in to Dashlane, these steps won’t help you regain access to your account if it’s removed. If you have SSO, when your account is removed, you permanently lose access to it. If you have the Spaces feature and have personal logins in your Personal Space, the only way for you to keep access to your logins and data is to export them to a new, personal account before your account is removed from the plan. You have SSO if you use the same login application to access Dashlane and other work accounts. If you don't know whether you have SSO, ask your manager or plan admin.

- Update your contact email address to your personal email address.

- Check if you previously turned on biometrics and Biometric recovery in the mobile app. Then you can reset your Master Password using your fingerprint or face.
