General feature notes
Dashlane account recovery options: Biometric recovery isn't available in the web app. Admin-assisted recovery isn't available on the mobile apps or the Dashlane macOS app.
Add, edit, or remove categories for Secure Notes: Any categories you created in the now unavailable desktop apps are still available to select. However, you can't create new categories or delete or rename existing categories in the web app. You can add keywords to the note text and then search for those keywords to locate an item.
Unlock the app with biometrics, a PIN, or a security key: You can unlock the app using the biometric methods available on your device or a security key.
Unlock the web app with biometrics, a PIN, or a security key
Unlock the Android app with biometrics or a PIN
Unlock the iOS app with biometrics or a PIN
Unlock the Dashlane macOS app with Touch ID
Ability to turn on and off 2-factor authentication (2FA): If you're protecting your Dashlane account with 2FA, you can turn the setting on and off only in the web app. Then you can sign in to any Dashlane app with 2FA turned on. If you're using 2FA to protect individual logins stored in Dashlane, you can turn the setting on and off from the web app, the Android app, or the iPhone app.
Passwordless login: Passwordless login isn't currently available for members of professional plans.
Web app feature notes
Secure file storage: For now, secure file storage in the web app is available on Chrome, Edge, the Safari extension, and other Chromium browsers, such as Opera, Brave, and Vivaldi. We're planning to support secure file storage on Firefox.
Log in with single sign-on (Dashlane Business plan): With the Dashlane Safari extension, self-hosted SSO isn’t available at this time due to Apple limitations, but you can use it through the macOS app.
Share information with a trusted person: We're working on an improved experience to provide easier account co-ownership and digital delegation for emergencies.
Phishing alerts: We alert you in five potentially risky situations when using a computer browser, Android device, iPhone, or iPad. Two types of phishing alerts come with all Dashlane plans. All five alerts are available with Dashlane Premium, Friends & Family, and our professional plans. Dashlane phishing alerts aren't available in the Safari browser due to a limitation on Safari's side.
macOS app notes
Autofill powered by Machine Learning: Autofill is much improved in the Dashlane Safari extension. You can use more of Dashlane's features and tools without needing to open the separate Dashlane macOS app. You have access to our feature-rich extension pop-up and in-browser vault view, as well as the best Autofill capabilities that Dashlane has to offer.
Get started with the Dashlane Safari extension
Password history: You can retrieve only the passwords you generated in the Dashlane macOS app.
Share information with a trusted person: We're working on an improved experience to provide easier account co-ownership and digital delegation for emergencies.
Ability to turn 2FA on or off: We don't plan to make 2-factor authentication available in the Dashlane macOS app. If you use the Dashlane macOS app, you can use another browser with the extension to turn 2FA on or off.
