General feature notes
Require Master Password to unlock Secure Notes: You can lock a Secure Note so you need to enter your Master Password to unlock it.
Dashlane account recovery options: Biometric recovery isn't available on the web app. Admin-assisted recovery isn't available on the mobile apps or the Dashlane macOS app.
Add, edit, or remove categories for Secure Notes: Any categories you created in the now unavailable desktop apps are still available to select, but you can't create new categories or delete or rename existing categories in the web app. We'll do our best to add this feature as soon as possible, but we don't have an estimated delivery date. In the meantime, you can add keywords to the note text and then search for those keywords to locate the item.
Unlock the app with biometrics, a PIN, or a security key: You can unlock the app using the biometric methods available on your device or a security key.
Unlock the web app with biometrics or a security key
Unlock the Android app with biometrics or a PIN
Unlock the iOS app with biometrics or a PIN
Unlock the Dashlane macOS app with Touch ID
Ability to turn on and off 2-factor authentication (2FA): In the web app, you can turn 2FA on and off regardless of which authentication app you use. For the mobile apps, you can turn on 2FA only with the Dashlane Authenticator app, but you can turn off 2FA regardless of which authentication app you use. We don't plan to make 2-factor authentication available in the Dashlane macOS app. If you use the Dashlane macOS app, you can use another browser with the extension to turn 2FA on or off.
Web app feature notes
Secure file storage: For now, secure file storage in the web app is available on Chrome, Edge, the Safari extension, and other Chromium browsers, such as Opera, Brave, and Vivaldi. We're planning to support secure file storage on Firefox.
Log in with single sign-on (Dashlane Business plan): With the Dashlane Safari extension, SSO isn’t available at this time due to Apple limitations. You can use self-hosted or Confidential SSO on a different browser like Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.
Import passwords: Import of passwords and vault data isn't available in the Dashlane Safari extension.
Export passwords: Export of passwords and vault data isn't available in the Dashlane Safari extension.
Share information with a trusted person: We're working on an improved experience to provide easier account co-ownership and digital delegation for emergencies.
Phishing alerts: We alert customers in two situations: (1) When you enter your login info on a website that we suspect is a scam imitation of the Dashlane site and (2) when you copy and paste data from Dashlane to a site that doesn't look like the right site for that login. The first type of alert comes with all Dashlane plans. The second alert comes with Dashlane Premium, Friends & Family, Team, and Business plans but not Dashlane Free, Advanced, or Starter plans. Dashlane phishing alerts aren't available in the Safari browser due to a limitation on Safari's side.
macOS app notes
Autofill powered by Machine Learning: Autofill is much improved in the Dashlane Safari extension. You can use more of Dashlane's features and tools without needing to open the separate Dashlane macOS app. You have access to our feature-rich extension pop-up and in-browser vault view, as well as the best Autofill capabilities that Dashlane has to offer.
